I was fortunate enough to have managed Victor as a Staff Software Engineer right when I joined Vroom back in 2020 for 2+ years. This was my first role when I joined a company fully remote which includes onboarding and learning to work with new team members all remotely. However, with Victor under my management, it surely helped to lighten my workload and gave me more time to put focus on other items. I truly believe there is nothing that Victor can’t do. He was able to jump into any team and take on any role to help develop and push out software features in any part of the stack and platform. Some notable projects off the top of my head are helping to design and build several micro front-end apps leveraging the latest and greater frameworks and design pattern to push out performant and stable apps to both internal business users and external users on the web. The company gained value from these apps with features including online document signing leveraging Docusign APIs and an Inventory Stock In Admin Tool to help business users easily stock in new inventory with real-time data validation. The biggest project was building a new admin tool that leverages the latest design pattern utilizing module federation pattern to allow the dev teams to quickly build performant and snappy modules and bundle them into an intuitive UI which helped the business to automate the document validation process in our customer car buying and selling transaction journey. I can go on and on about many more projects but I’ll surely hit the character limit in this text box.
Victor is one of the finest engineers I have ever worked with. At Vroom, he single-handedly built a highly complex web application in a fast-paced project. He just doesn't write code, he is highly passionate about his work. Victor always tests his own work before passing it on to the testing team, he truly cares about delivering the highest quality work. Although we did not have a designer on the team for a while, every UI element he designed and built was intuitive, creative, and user-friendly. He is a “ROCKSTAR” developer with a high work ethic. I worked with Victor at Vroom for several months in 2023. We were tasked with what seemed to be an impossible deadline in creating a new application. I worked closely with Victor as he tackled each challenge, banging out the work quickly and managing work for three additional front-end developers. We hit that deadline. Victor always carefully listened and contributed to every conversation, often bringing up deeper issues or small issues that we needed to account for. I also was able to lean on Victor for design help. He often saw things that needed to be adjusted or were able to help me brainstorm when a new design challenge came along. Not every developer “sees” design details. He does, and it’s very appreciated!

When I joined Vroom, Victor was actually one of the engineers who interviewed me. I could tell right away that he was an extremely sharp individual. I got the pleasure of working with Victor when our teams got merged during a re-organization at Vroom. I came to learn that Victor values quality and excellence in technology. He is willing to go the extra mile necessary to do things the right way and research the best possible approach given what technology is available. He was the tip of the spear on implementing the Next.js module federation at Vroom so that we could build a new suite of internal apps utilizing micro-frontends while sharing a common layout. Wherever Victor goes, he will clearly leave a massive impact. I would be thrilled if I got to work with him again in the future.
Victor is one of the most capable engineers with whom I was fortunate enough to work. Not only is Victor an extremely talented, driven, and creative engineer, he is also an excellent leader. Victor always took the initiative to make improvements and features without having been asked to do so. He naturally steps up to lead without being asked to, and though not given a title of engineering lead, everyone saw him as such. In addition to delivering on his own workload, he helped coordinate the rest of the team by creating tickets, documenting approaches, and actively engaging with designers during the design process.
I had the privilege to work closely with Victor during our time at Vroom. Victor led all UI initiatives at Vroom. He did an excellent job architecting the framework for all front-end-based services. He is a great leader and mentors junior engineers to achieve their full potential. He had a great grasp of the different technologies that we used at Vroom. He is one of the best engineers that I have worked closely with. Wish our paths will cross again in the future.
